
Depart Roseau Cruise Ship Berth at 9 am, to visit theHistoric Fort Young Hotel, which was once a military fort built in the seventeen hundreds for the defense of the island.
The hotel first opened its doors in 1964 and now offers modern and luxurious accommodation with an old world charm.
After a tour of "Historic Fort Young, have a refreshing drink on the Terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
Next visit Morne Bruce a plateau form where you will have a bird’s eye view of the Capital City Roseau and the Botanical gardens.
Move on to the Botanical Gardens which had its genesis in 1889, as a means to facilitate the diversification of crops and to provide farmers with correctly propagated seedlings.
Later many ornamental trees and plants were established to make the grounds attractive and beautiful, until it was hit by Hurricane David in1979 the Botanical Gardens of Roseau was considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Eastern Caribbean. A school bus crushed under the weight of a powerful Baobab Tree is still seen as a grim reminder of the fury of David.
Next visit the Roseau Cathedral, of our "Lady of Fair Haven" this MAGNIFICENT STRUCTURE, took over one hundred years to reach completion.
Next to the Cathedral stands theMethodist Church which dates back to 1766 during the reign of
King George 111.
Move on to the Roseau Public market, this is where farmers and vendors form rural areas come to display and sell their fruits and vegetables.
Drive by the Baracoon Building which now houses the Roseau City Council, but was originally a slave storage facility. An exact replica of this building is found in Senegal.
Next visit the Roseau Museum, which overlooks the Craft Market and the Bay Front.
Take a "walk through Dominica’s Cultural and Social History, from Geology and Archaeology to the present day".
Next visit the Old Market Square, the once Slave Marketwhich up until 1971, was the colourful centre of the City’s commercial activities, this square dates back from the early period of French Colonization.
Later walk to the Fort Young Board Walk for drinks and entertainment.
